The Way Way Back
This summer, Duncan (Liam James) feels trapped in his boring life. Forced to go on vacation to her mother's boyfriend's beach house, she is expected to "change" for the better—but how is that possible, when she feels like an outsider among her new family? Everything changes when he discovers Water Wizz, a local water park filled with strange but likable people, especially Owen (Sam Rockwell), who gives him a job and friendship. With newfound courage, Duncan learns to stand up straight, confronts his future stepfather, and even approaches the girl he likes. Who would have thought that the worst summer could be the best?
