The War Between the Land and the Sea follows the global organization UNIT as an ancient sea-dwelling species, called Homo aqua (Sea Devils), reappears and shocks humanity by revealing themselves after tens of thousands of years. Tensions escalate from a minor confrontation on the coastline to an international crisis as war between humanity and Homo aqua becomes almost inevitable, and UNIT must mediate before this conflict destroys both—what makes humanity ready to face creatures older than human history itself and are peace negotiations still possible in the midst of an approaching war?
