The Painted Bird
Amid the devastation of war in Eastern Europe, a young boy is sent by his parents to live with his aunt for safety. However, when his aunt dies unexpectedly, he is forced to wander alone in a wild and cruel world, where prejudice and superstition rule everything. His struggle to survive slowly turns into an inner battle—a conflict he doesn't even realize, between defending his soul or surrendering to darkness.
