Nobbys Beach, Australia, 1975—a world filled with surf mats, baby oil, and Kentucky fried chicken. Jeff, a 14-year-old teenager, tries to make sense of a life that is changing faster than his youthful desires, especially when he falls for Melly, the shy girl next door. However, when a giant whale carcass washes up on the beach, their lives change drastically. Meanwhile, their parents were busy pursuing the sexual revolution which also washed up on the beach. Like a rotting whale carcass, it would all end in spectacular chaos.
