In 18th century France, a young painter is commissioned to paint a portrait of a bride and groom without the model's knowledge. Secretly observing him during the day, he pours out streaks of color at night. Slowly, the two bond in a fiery intimacy, stealing the last moments of freedom before an unwanted marriage.
