Pluribus

Pluribus follows Carol Sturka, a novelist who is immune to the effects of the "Joining", an extraterrestrial virus that turns almost all of humanity into a hive mind of peace and contentment. As the world is filled with artificial happiness that erodes individuality, Carol becomes one of the few people who still feels inner conflict and free will — can she save humanity from total happiness that eliminates personal choice without succumbing to despair itself?
