In rural Iceland, the love of humans and horses intertwines in an absurd and heartwarming story. Kolbeinn loves Solveig, but his horse is infatuated with a neighboring stallion. Vernhardur is addicted to vodka, while his horse falls in love with a Russian sailor. Grimur quarrels with a neighbor over a wire fence, and Johanna struggles to keep her horse free. All these stories converge in the fall, when the gathering of horses changes everything. Will their story have a happy ending?
