The Mistress of Spices
In India, Tilo has the ability to predict the future. After his parents were killed by robbers, he was kidnapped but managed to escape and was raised by the First Mother in a traditional spice cult. Now, as Mistress of Spices, she is sent to the San Francisco Spice Market with three rules: use spices to help clients, never herself; never leave the store; and don't let the skin touch it. However, when she meets Doug, a handsome American architect, Tilo is tempted to break the first rule—and the spices punish her. Can love defeat curse?
