Mille secrets mille dangers (Lovely Day)
on the day of Alain's wedding to his girlfriend, Virginie, held in the crypt of the magnificent Saint-Joseph Oratory in Montreal. Even though that day was supposed to be the happiest moment of his life—surrounded by his extended family, including his divorced Lebanese-Egyptian immigrant parents—Alain's happiness slowly crumbled. As the days progressed, he began to be attacked again by the chronic illnesses, severe insomnia and acute anxiety that had haunted him for so long. This film very intensely and touchingly portrays the clash between the outer facade of a lively celebration party and the destructive inner turmoil inside a man trying to come to terms with his family's past.
