Daisy, a cynical American teenager, is sent to the English countryside to live with her cousin's family. In the midst of the tensions of the Third World War, she falls in love with Eddie, her cousin. However, a nuclear explosion separates them, forcing Daisy and her little sister, Piper, to traverse a chaotic England in search of Eddie. On a journey full of danger, Daisy must choose: give in to her fears or fight for her newfound love.
