The Mine (Jattilainen)
Jussi, an ambitious young civil servant, is assigned to handle the environmental permits for a giant nickel and uranium mine in Northern Finland. The Talvivaara mine, led by charismatic visionary Pekka Perä, promises revolutionary methods and employment in poor areas of Scandinavia. However, Jussi slowly realized he had been lied to—the new method was actually causing an environmental disaster that was deliberately covered up. When the application for a new permit is submitted, Jussi is faced with a tempting job offer. In the midst of a moral dilemma, he has to choose: play along or fight. To what extent will he be trapped?
