Fanny and Alexander (Fanny och Alexander)
In Sweden at the beginning of the 20th century, Alexander and Fanny Ekdahl lived a happy life in the midst of their large, rich and artistic family. However, that happiness collapsed when their father died, and their mother married the cruel Bishop Edvard Vergérus. Life turns stressful in the bishop's cold and stiff house. Alexander, with his wild imagination, struggles against the tyranny of his stepfather, while Emilie, their mother, tries to find a way out of the marriage that cages them. This story combines family drama, fantasy, and mystery in a stunning Bergman masterpiece.
