Dheepan
A Tamil freedom fighter, Dheepan, is forced to flee Sri Lanka as the civil war draws to a close. Taking two foreigners with him—a woman and a small child—he hoped to gain asylum in Europe. Arriving in Paris, this "family" moves from one temporary place to another, until Dheepan works as a guard in a rundown building on the outskirts of the city. He tries to build a new life, but the daily violence around him awakens old wounds. Dheepan must return to being a warrior to protect the people he hopes can become his true family.
