In the midst of financial difficulties, Chagawa struggles to defend his guardian, Junnosuke, from the ambitions of the child's rich father. With burning determination, he pursues the "Akutagawa-sho" literary award for the sake of Junnosuke's future. Life on Third Street becomes more colorful when Mika, a spoiled little girl, arrives and learns the meaning of hard work from her cousin, Ippei. Meanwhile, Mutsuko pursues her dream of becoming a mechanic, and Chagawa searches for Hiromi, his former girlfriend who is now a successful exotic dancer. Will their love and determination be enough to change destiny?
