Adama
Adama, a 12-year-old boy from a remote village in West Africa, lives in the shadow of a Cliff that protects him from the "land of breath", a kingdom of evil spirits thirsting for war. When his older brother, Samba, mysteriously disappears, Adama decides to look for him. With the help of a wise griot and a brave street urchin, he crosses World War I-ravaged Europe in 1914. His journey is full of danger, but his love for his older brother will lead him to the front lines of battle—and perhaps, to an unexpected epiphany.
